FFEN is excited to welcome back Sarah Isse to the team as our new community outreach and engagement coordinator AmeriCorps*VISTA member. Sarah graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelors in business communications and management & leadership with a minor in justice and peace studies in May. During her time at St. Thomas, Sarah was part of the Undergraduate Business Council as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion where she hosted events and training around DEI.
Sarah grew up in Hopkins, Minnesota and spent much of her high school years volunteering as a tutor to elementary students in reading and english as well as volunteering at her local hospital. Her college volunteer experience has involved working with Cookie Cart young people and the Minnesota Urban Debate League. In her free time, you can find Sarah reading a book, spending time with family and friends, or binge watching her favorite show.
This past school year, Sarah spent her fall and spring semester as a communications intern with FFEN working on FFENs social media platforms and newsletter. She helped create a content calendar and social media strategy during her time at FFEN. This was Sarah’s first experience working in hunger relief and where she learned how complex and essential the work FFEN was. She hopes that within her new role that she can continue to create meaningful and long lasting volunteer relationships.
