#SpringForwardMN: Out With the Old, In With the New

The phrase “out with the old, in with the new” is driving FFEN’s work! As we spring forward into new possibilities, food shelves are reopening and serving more neighbors than ever. As food shelves work to better meet the increasing need for healthy food in their communities, FFEN remains their first call for help!

In fact, FFEN is supporting twice as many food shelves as it was before the pandemic.

FFEN is currently supporting 25 food shelves across the state of Minnesota to help them reshape their services to meet the increased demand for predictable, equitable, and reliable food. Food shelves like Hunger Falls Coalition who recently moved their services out of the basement and into a local community center.

FFEN volunteers worked with Hunger Falls Coalition to design a new, efficient choice model layout that feels just like a grocery store! The new space provides a clean and welcoming environment to connect families with other essential community resources. The additional square footage provides a personal shopping experience that emphasizes fresh foods first.

People are proud that we’re here. They’re proud of what we’re doing,” shared Ashley, Executive Director. (Read the blog here).

You can help food shelves better serve their communities! Please consider making a gift to help us reach our $20,000 goal for GiveMN’s statewide giving campaign, #SpringForwardMN, running from May 1-11, 2021. Every dollar donated will be matched up to $5,000!

FFEN is helping food shelves spring forward by supporting them as they strive to meet the increasing need in their communities.

Thank you for your generosity.

Thank you,
