FFEN Volunteering at Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf:

FFEN first assisted CCEFS with layout and design planning for their new building which opened in January 2018. In April 2019, we were back to participate in their hands-on “Wildcard Wednesday,” a weekly food distribution that shares the abundance of fresh food “rescued” from retail stores with the broader community! This donated food increases both the amount and frequency of desirable Client Top 5 fresh items available to local families.

FFEN and Alerus Volunteering at Sabathani Community Center's Holiday Distribution:

Sabathani Community Center started working with FFEN in 2018 to help provide more fresh produce and other high demand items to south Minneapolis families, while reducing the food budget required to stock the shelves. This was an urgent need due to some anticipated cuts from historical funders. With funding help from Alerus, Sabathani was able to re-pour their food shelf floor, a first step in the continued transformation of their food shelf to help accommodate more items. To celebrate this unique collaboration, FFEN and Alerus assisted with the Sabathani December Holiday food distribution.
