During these uncertain times, FFEN's focus continues to be on ensuring equitable, healthy and predictable food access across the state through direct support of the food shelves continuing to serve their local communities. Right now we need that more than ever. With schools and businesses being closed across the state, a strong and robust hunger relief system is necessary to meet the need now and in the coming months.
Already, resourceful food shelf leaders and volunteers have been quickly and creatively responding – ensuring that food can continue to be provided in safe ways for clients, volunteers and staff. This is another area of our world where individuals are on the front lines each day taking care of those who might be most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. At FFEN, we continue to be WOW-ed on a daily basis by the hard work and resiliency of the people on the ground at food shelves.
While our focus remains the same, our work these days looks different:
FFEN staff and volunteers are working remotely and continue to be available via email and phone for consultation and support to food shelves as they respond to urgent community needs.
We are working closely with partners across the hunger relief sector to ensure that we’re aligned with state and regional efforts supporting food access.
We are ready to assist food shelves with critical needs as they work to stay open and serve their community. Your donation to FFEN TODAY provides urgent support to food shelves that need it most.
We know that the determination and giving spirit of Minnesotans will continue to shine during this challenging time. We feel honored to work alongside food shelf leaders who continue to put their neighbors first.
Please stay connected with us on FFEN's Facebook Page for further updates. Wishing you each continued good health at this time.
